Il Capricho De Gaudi

The Villa Quijano, commonly known as Il Capricho, is a modernist building located In the Cantabrian city of Comillas. It was designed by Antonio Gaudí and built between 1883 and 1885 under the direction of Cristóbal Cascante, an assistant to the Reus architect, commissioned by Indian Máximo Díaz de Quijano.

The Challenge

In recent years, Il Capricho de Gaudí had substantially increased the number of visitors. Its executives wanted to incorporate a tool that not only offered content to visitors but also allowed them to manage visits through big data and data intelligence, they needed to know more about the habits, behaviours, and profile of their visitors.

The Solution

Working closely with Villa managers, MuseumMate’s communications team developed highly engaging content that would captivate visitors. To this end, innovative storytelling techniques were used to arouse visitors’ emotions as they stroll through the gardens and modernist building.

In the first phase, visitors will be able to access content directly on their own smartphones and later on the SmartGuide Visitor Assistant.

The Result

In less than two months, Gaudi’s Capricho incorporated the EasyGuide digital solution, that not only offered immersive content but also allowed them to manage visit data intelligence through the powerful visitor analytics tool which enables them to understand their visitor behaviour in detail.

Now, during the visit, there is a perfect harmony between information, music, sounds, and a Cantabrian breeze that permeates the entire visit with the aromas of plants and trees distributed all along the way.
